Wish List: Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale

Sale Wishlist

Sephora recently announced that they would be making changes to their existing Beauty Insider rewards program. To read all about the changes, including adding points multipliers and the ability to redeem points for store credits, you can view my post here. To celebrate the updated rewards program, Sephora is hosting a sale from August 30th to September 3rd (Rouge members get early access beginning on August 24th).

I’ve decided to share a wishlist of the items I’d like to purchase during the sale to give some inspiration to you guys and to help organize my thoughts. Since I’m a Rouge member, I will be able to shop these products early, at 20% off. Because the sales are so infrequent, it’s easy to go overboard and over spend. Here’s what I’m eyeing:

1. Skincare Products

If you have been following me for a while, you will know that I am obsessed with Drunk Elephant skincare products. My last Sephora wishlist for Holiday 2017 was full of Drunk Elephant products! I have finished most of the products since last November and this sale is the perfect time to replenish my stash, since they are quite expensive. On my wishlist are C-Firma, Shaba, and Protini.

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum

C-Firma is a vitamin C serum that is the best one I have ever tried. What I like about it is that I feel an instant firming and brightening effect as soon as I apply it. I notice the look of my dark spots start to disappear with continued use. It is not sticky at all, and I love that you can blend it into the other DE products, or layer products immediately on top – no waiting for absorption. Although it does have a bit of a funky scent (due to the fermented pumpkin I believe), I have grown to love it because I know that it means it works! $100 CAD for 1 oz./30 ml ($80 during the sale)

Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex Eye Serum

Shaba Complex is an eye serum that contains copper peptides and black tea ferment to help minimize the look of fine lines. While it’s not the most hydrating eye product I’ve tried, I add a drop of marula oil to it in the winter if I need extra hydration. I find it makes my eyes look so smooth and it helped to eliminate my stubborn milia after years of having little white bumps. A little bit of product goes a long way – one bottle will last ~6 months. $72 CAD for 0.5 oz/15 ml ($57.60 during the sale)

Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream

Protini will be a new product for me. One of the few Drunk Elephant offerings that I have yet to try. It is described as protein powder for your face. I have heard nothing but great things, so with the discount I am excited to try it out! $84 CAD for 1.69 oz/50 ml ($67.20 during the sale)

*note: Sephora has placed a quantity restriction on Drunk Elephant products. You will only be allowed to purchase three Drunk Elephant products per transaction. This also applies to Tatcha skincare products.

2. Eyeshadow Palettes

When Sephora has a sale, it is the perfect time to pick up those palettes you’ve been eyeing! While they usually come at a good value for the number of shadows you are receiving, they can still be quite pricey, so 20% off makes it a little easier to pull the trigger! There are two in particular that have caught my attention:

Born to Run PaletteScreen Shot 2018-08-20 at 7.09.07 PM

Urban Decay Born to Run Palette

This palette has been on my wishlist for a while! I think Urban Decay knocked it out of the park with this one. I will be honest, I haven’t been this excited about one of their products in a long time. I think the shades in this are beautiful and offer a wide range of tones. I have swatched the metallics in store and they are all absolutely beautiful!! $59 CAD for 21 shades ($47.20 during the sale)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette

This is one of the hottest launches this summer. I am a huge fan of ABH and the Modern Renaissance palette is one of my all time favourites! I was so excited when this palette was announced and I absolutely love the purple tones it offers. It contains 7 shimmer and 7 matte shadows. I will admit I have not tried any of these shadows, so I will visit a store to swatch the palette before deciding if I will purchase it. $55 CAD for 14 shades and a dual-ended brush ($44 during the sale)

If any of you have tried either (or both) of these palettes, let me know what you think of them in the comments, and which one I should get!

3. Lip Products

I am an absolute lipstick junkie, I just love lipstick, gloss, balm, you name it! I don’t think a sale can go by with me adding to my lipstick collection! Here’s whats on my list:

Marc Jacobs Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick

I am one of those people who love the look of lip gloss but hate applying it with a doe foot applicator. I find it can get so messy! I am super intrigued by the idea of this product – a glossy look in a lipstick bullet. I have seen many great reviews on this product and can’t wait to try for myself. In particular, the shade Black Cherry Baby has caught my eye – it’s a deep red with a bronzy shimmer. So beautiful! $34 CAD for 0.074 oz ($27.40 during the sale)

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Astrology Collection: Virgo

I am so excited about this one! I am a Virgo and have been waiting all year to see what shade Bite would create for us. Since Virgo is an earth sign known for being practical and modest, I figured it would be a run-of-the-mill browny-nude. I was so excited to see that the Virgo shade was a grape-toned red! Bite noted that they took inspiration for this earthy shade from the fruit of the grape vine. I can see myself wearing this all fall! Based on previous astrology launches, this should be released just in time for the sale. Click here for a review of this lipstick.  $30 CAD for 0.15 oz/4.35 g ($24 during the sale)

  1. Love the list! I didn’t know there was restrictions on Drunk Elephant and Tatcha. I’m thinking one of the smaller Drunk Elephant sets and was debating a Tatcha set. It just seems like so much for what I want to spend right now. But 20%….wah!!!

    1. Omg I know! I wasn’t preparing for this spend, they just sprung it on us!! What I decided I’m actually going to do is get the DE Rise + Glow set (minis of C-Firma and B-Hydra) to hold me over until the November sale, and then purchase some holiday sets since they usually come at a better value! Theres so much skincare I want to try and its all so expensive!
