Astrology by Bite: Virgo Swatch and Review

Bite Beauty has been releasing an exclusive shade of their Amuse Bouche lipstick for each zodiac sign this year, beginning with Aquarius. The new shade for each zodiac sign is released on the date for which the sign begins. Virgos rule from August 23rd to September 22nd.

My birthday is on Sept 22nd, which makes me a Virgo. Well actually, since I’m on the cusp, some charts list me as Virgo and others as Libra. Anyway, I decided to pick up the limited edition shade made just for Virgos during the Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Event!  Bite describes it as a grapey red. Since Virgo is an earth sign, they drew inspiration from the fruit of the vine with a wine-toned hue.

Here’s how they describe it: “Virgo is an earth sign, ruled by the planet of communication, Mercury. Disciplined Virgos demand perfection and order all around them. They’re known to be humble and practical, and love a good value. Find them poring over their spreadsheets in the office (and getting in before everyone else), meticulously planning their next vacation, or snapping up the best fashion finds—at a steal.” Yup, all true!

The lipstick is housed in Bite’s signature charcoal soft-touch tube, and has the Virgo symbol embossed in silver on the barrel. The box features pouts adorned in various shades and has holographic zodiac signs printed all over it that shimmer in the light. The box is sealed with a sticker in the shade of the lipstick and lists 3 qualities of virgos: humble, disciplined, organized.

The lipstick itself is absolutely beautiful. If you have not tried the Amuse Bouche formula, I highly recommend it! It swipes on with ultra-pigmented creamy, opaque coverage in one swipe (see swatch above) and it really stays on the lips. It is super comfortable on the lips, and contains a moisturizing blend of 12 edible oils and has a citrus-vanilla scent. What I love most about Bite products is that all of their ingredients are food-grade, meaning you can actually eat them! In the photo above is also the Bite Beauty Lip Pencil in the shade 084 which is an oxblood lip liner. This liner matches the Virgo lipstick perfectly! I use the two together to create perfectly-defined lines, because as we know, Virgos are neat-freaks and perfectionists!

Many of the Astrology shades have sold out, but if you are a Gemini, Cancer, Leo, or Virgo, your shade is still available on the Bite Beauty website. These lipsticks retail for $26 USD or $30 CAD. Since I’m on the cusp, I’m thinking about picking up the Libra shade as well. Bite will be giving hints over the next week or so as to their inspiration for the shade. Libra is expected to be released on September 23rd.
