I was really excited to collaborate with Acaderma and Palm in April to try their Oasis Barrier Booster serum.
Acaderma is a skincare brand that harnesses the power of academic research into developing skincare products that are backed by science. Academics + dermatology = Acaderma! The brand was a perfect fit for me, since I am an academic researcher myself! Dr. Shuting Hu is the brains behind the brand and uses principles of plant biology to sustainably source extracts for use in their products, while working with local NGOs in Africa.

Aside from the brand’s core values aligning with my own, I was particularly interested in The Oasis serum because my moisture barrier has been THROUGH IT this winter. Ive been searching for anything to help hydrate and protect my skin’s acid mantle. The serum includes xerophytes, which are found in desert cacti, to help the skin retain its moisture, as well as repair and protect its barrier. Acaderma’s patented Seh-Haw Extract reduces inflammation and soothes the skin. Beta-gulcan and B5 are also included for further soothing, hydration, and protection.
The serum is a liquid-gel that is quite thin, and has a lot of slip to it. Because of this, one pump is more than enough to cover the entire face and neck. It does not sink in on immediate contact, which I like because it gives you time to work the product into the skin and allow it to penetrate. It instantly cools the skin and I notice redness disappear and lines look less prominent. The hydrating effect is instantaneous! I works beautifully as a base layer to the rest of my routine. This is definitely getting a permanent spot on my vanity.
The Oasis serum is free of silicones, fragrance, parabens, sulphates, and alcohol. It is also cruelty-free.
I’ve never heard of acaderma, but I’m intrigued by the claims of reducing redness and the appearance of fine lines!

Its a fairly new brand I believe but they are expanding their line! I think they have 3 or 4 products in the range right now and are in the process of developing a sunscreen! Really intrigued to watch them grow! Impressed so far.
